چکیده
The feeding activity of Plutella xylostella in brassica crops can lead to large losses; thus, pesticides that prevent during the larval stage or metamorphosis this insect be used for its control. In study, effects two types aqueous extracts Tradescantia pallida on different life P. cycle were tested; neither extracts, which obtained by infusion and maceration, had been tested against xylostella. biological variables evaluated pupal duration viability, weight, sex ratio, longevity females, fecundity, fertility oviposition period. There was no significant difference phase between bioassay treatments; however, viability lower when individuals exposed both T. extracts. Reduced observed among treated with application Treatment extract caused lowest females. results study allow us propose bioextract as an alternative pest management, emphasizing technique small producers and/or organic.

Sublethal Effects of Fenoxycarb on the Plutella xylostella (Lepidoptera: Plutellidae)
The effects of fenoxycarb, a Juvenile hormone analogue, at sublethal concentrations were tested on some biological parameters of Plutella xylostella (L.) in two consecutive generations. The calculated LC10, LC25, and LC50 values of the insecticide were 21.58, 43.25, and 93.62 mg/liter on third-instar larvae, respectively. Fenoxycarb significantly reduced pupal weight and oviposition period in p...

Potential trap crops for the diamondback moth, Plutella xylostella (L.) (Lepidoptera: Plutellidae), were evaluated through a series of ovipositional preference and larval survival experiments in outdoor screenhouses in 2002 and 2003. Hosts examined as trap crops were glossy and waxy collards, Brassica oleracea L. variety acephala; Indian mustard, Brassica juncea (L.) Czern; and yellow rocket, B...

Biological control using pathogenic microsporidia could be an alternative to chemical control of the diamondback moth (DBM) Plutella xylostella (Lepidoptera: Plutellidae). The microsporidium Nosema bombycis (NB) is one of the numerous pathogens that can be used in the Integrated Pest Management (IPM) of DBM. However, its pathogenicity or effectiveness can be influenced by various factors, parti...

In laboratory experiments we compared the mortality of Plutella xylostella L. eggs induced by six products of trichogrammatid egg parasitoids. Five of the species were commercially available, and the sixth is under development. Each of the six products represented a single species of trichogrammatid (Trichogrammatoidea bactraeNagaraja,Trichogrammapretiosum Riley, T. ostriniae Pan & Chen, T. pla...
